Stamford Amateur Musical Society to perform Sister Act

Sister Act at Stamford Corn Exchange
Sister Act at Stamford Corn Exchange

Following on from recent successful performances of Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain and Guys and Dolls, the award-winning Stamford Amateur Musical Society are back and proud to present Sister Act.

The group has been busy rehearsing for this year’s production, which has been directed and choreographed by Nicola Sandall.

This family-friendly, feel-good musical comedy show is packed with infectious songs inspired by Motown, funk, soul and disco, all based on the hit 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith.

Sister Act tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and is put in protective custody in the last place anyone would think to look – a convent!

The stage production is showing at the Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre today (Wednesday, June 8) until Saturday (June 11).

Evening performances will take place at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee starting at 2.30pm.

Tickets are on sale now at the box office - 01780 766455 or {www.stamford-corn- exchange.co.uk|online}.
