A CIRCUS will go ahead this week despite high winds making it tough to raise the big top.

Russells International Circus rolled into Market Deeping this week and all hands are on deck to get the tent up in time for the Wednesday curtain raiser.

Alex Morley, who plays a clown in the circus, said: “The show must go on.

“We are battling against the winds at the moment, everyone down to the clowns and acrobats are out helping.

“But the circus is going ahead and we will open at 5pm on Wednesday.

“We have all the thrills and excitement of the big top, including a special springboard show from the Hungarian State Circus.”

The two hour shows run from Wednesday until Sunday on the John Eve Field, at 5pm and 7.30pm Wednesday to Friday, 3pm and 6pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.

Tickets start at £8 but you can visit for discounted prices.
