A HOST of pantomimes will be drawing big crowds as usual this year. So if you don’t want to miss out on all the fun, book your tickets now!

Stamford Pantomime Players are presenting Jack & The Beanstalk at Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre until Saturday 1 January. Sarah Le-Brock is principal boy, Katherine Hind principal girl and Kevin Paige as Dame Dottie Trot.

Performances are at 2pm on Friday 31 December and 5pm on Saturday 1 January and tickets cost £9 (£7). Box office - 01780 766455.

RUTLAND Arts Theatre Society is presenting Cinderella at the Victoria Hall, Oakham from Wednesday, January 19 to Saturday, January 22 at 7.30pm plus a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.

This year’s adaptation is by society member Sheila Plant and the director is Patricia Buxton. Young member Tom Johnson, 16, is assistant director as part of his GCSE drama coursework at Uppingham Community College. Tickets are £8 (£6) in advance and can be booked by ringing 01572 723247. Stamford Arts Centre has Cinderella from Chaplins Panto on Saturday, January 8 at 2pm and 6pm. Tickets are £7 (£6.50), or £25 for a family. Call the box office on 01780 763203.

UPPINGHAM Theatre Company appear in Sleeping Beauty by Peter Denyer at Uppingham Theatre at 2.30pm on Friday 31 December, 2.30pm and 7.30pm Saturday 1 January and 2.30pm on Sunday 2. COTTESMORE Village Players’ production of Robinson Crusoe, a family pantomime adapted and directed by Rob Chisholm, is at Market Overton Village Hall from Wednesday, January 26 to Saturday, January 29 at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.

RINGSTONE Players will perform The Wizard Of Oz at Edenham Village Hall from Thursday 6 January to Saturday, January 8 at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £7, under 16s £5, from the Spice of Life health shop in the Burghley Centre, Bourne.

OUNDLE Amateur Theatrical Society members will present Cinderella at the Victoria Hall, Oundle from Wednesday, January 26 to Friday, January 28 at 7.30pm and on Saturday, January 29 at 3pm and 7pm. Chloe Dannatt stars as Cinders with Scott Savage as Prince Charming and local ballet dancers will form the chorus. Tickets cost £8 (£6), or £25 for a family of four, from the Greetings shop, Oundle.

PRIORY Players of Deeping St James have performances of The Wizard Of Oz at The Deepings School on Friday, January 21 at 2pm and 7pm and Saturday, January 22 at 7pm. Tickets £6 and £4 from Louise Spriggs on 01778 345910, or on the door.

KING’S Cliffe Players will present Treasure Island on Thursday, February 17, Friday, February 18 and Saturday, February 19 and again from February 23 to February 26. The pantomime is being directed by William Lindsay, produced by Peter J Wallace and the musical director is James Major.
