Stamford Shakespeare Company’s new season starts on Monday (6 June) at one of England’s finest open air theatres.
For three months each summer, thousands of visitors from all over the country flock to Rutland Open Air Theatre to see one of three plays chosen for that year. The stage is set in the enchanting glade beneath a permanent all-weather canopy in the grounds of historic Tolethorpe Hall. Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austin’s witty story about the love, life and family of Elizabeth Bennett and the seemingly arrogant and conceited Mr Darcy can be seen from Monday to Saturday, June 11. Hamlet and The Winter’s Tale will also be performed during the summer season.
