Rutland artist, Barbara Taylor-Harris has received international recognition for her innovative art techniques, combining moulten plastic from a 3D pen with paint to create unique paintings and sculptures.

Her work has also caught the imagination of the people of Rutland, who voted her as the ‘People’s Choice’ at this year’s Art in Lyddington event.

Barbara said: “I was so delighted that so many people liked and enjoyed my paintings and sculptures. It was the large ‘Willow Dream’ painting that most people voted for. I am so thrilled to have the honour of being the ‘People’s Choice’ winner.”

The ‘Willow Dream’ painting has now sold, but there will be many other delightful paintings from the ‘Everglade Reflection’ and ‘Willow Dream’ series on show at her next exhibition, ‘Serendipitous Inspiration’ - which will be held at the Victoria Hall Gallery in Oakham, from Wednesday, December 10, until Sunday, December 21.

Barbara will be at the exhibition daily and will be happy to talk about her art work and show off her innovative 3D pen technique.

The exhibition will also feature many smaller studio pieces, ideal for that original and unique Christmas gift.

Barbara said: “It’s a good idea to move paintings around or change them so you continue to see something different and remember the pleasure that buying that picture gave you.”
