What’s On: Easter Holidays
There’s plenty of ‘egg-citing’ events taking place across the area this Easter - including the chance to meet the Easter Bunny!
Hop along to Sacrewell for The Big Bunny Hunt taking place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. New for this year, the hunt will be on foot across the whole site, ending at the bunny’s warren where successful adventurers can collect their delicious prize. Spring into Sacrewell events including daily lamb feeding shows will also be running every day throughout the Easter holidays. The Big Bunny Hunt costs an additional £3 per child. Normal admission applies.
In Stamford, Burghley House provides the spectacular backdrop for the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday in the Gardens of Surprise. Follow the Burghley Easter Egg Hunt and solve the riddle to claim a full size chocolate egg from the Easter Bunny. Admission is free of charge with a House and Gardens or Gardens only ticket (11am to 5pm, last admission 4.30pm).
On Easter Monday, from 2pm to 4pm, take part in a short trail around Bourne Wood looking for eggs and other objects. There is a small charge per child but every entrant receives a small prize.
Deeping Shopping Centre will he hosting an Easter Fun Day on Saturday from 10am to 2pm. There will be free face painting and balloon modelling as well as fairground rides to keep children entertained. The Easter Fun Day will continue with two competitions, both free to enter and with great prizes. There will be a hard-boiled egg painting competition with the decorator of the best egg winning a children’s Easter hamper. Children are asked to bring their decorated eggs with them to the Easter Fun Day and the best design will be chosen at 2pm.
An Easter Treasure Hunt will take place in Thurlby at Lawrance Park Hall on Saturday, from 2pm to 4pm. Follow the trail to win a chocolate prize. Entry is £2.50 per person, tickets available from Thurlby Village Post Office or Thurlby CP School.
There’s plenty of Easter egg-citement at Stapleford Park on Sunday, including an Easter Egg Hunt at 11.30am and egg decorating and face painting from 10.30am to midday, £10 per child.
Join Rocks by Rail in Cottesmore for the opening of its 2016 season with the return of the ever popular Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Enjoy a fun-filled family day out at Thorpe Hall’s Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday. The Easter Bunny will be hiding piles of eggs in the gardens and, to mark the hospice’s 25th anniversary, there’ll be some special silver eggs among them. There’ll be a host of activities from 11am to 3pm on the day – young visitors can have their faces painted and pose for a picture with the Easter Bunny.
Come along to Rutland Water this weekend for an ‘egg-celent’ Easter trail, taking place Friday to Monday, 11am to 3pm. Why not take part in this activity which involves walking around the beautiful surrounding of Rutland Water Sykes Lane and finding Easter clues to receive your free creme egg. No cost to enter.
